Just as a woman’s body experiences many changes during her life cycle, so should her yoga practice. Although scientific research has come very far in the past few years regarding the advancement in women’s health, many women are still not getting the care they need and deserve. Yoga therapy can help fill these gaps in care and improve overall quality of life.

 

Join Dana Podell, a licensed pelvic health physical therapist and skilled yoga therapist, in an 8-week group yoga therapy program designed to support women navigating a variety of physical and emotional challenges. These challenges may be related to (but are not limited to)

-   Pregnancy

-   Postpartum

-   Perimenopause

-   Pelvic pain

-   Painful periods

-   Endometriosis

-   Digestive disorders

-   Bladder related disorders

-   Pelvic organ prolapse

- Osteoporosis/Osteopenia

-   & more

 

What makes this different from a regular yoga class?

Great question! Unlike a weekly yoga class, this group is intended to be therapeutic and address your specific women’s health related concerns. Before the start of 8 weeks, Dana will meet with every participant individually for a 30-minute virtual appointment to better understand your medical history and needs (this does not apply to Dana’s current pelvic health patients). Another wonderful advantage to group yoga therapy is that you will spend the entire 8 weeks with the same cohort of women. During this time, you will build a strong connection with like-minded women who can support your recovery journey. Finally, each of you will be given therapeutic yoga tools to practice at home in-between sessions. This could be a short breathing practice, a simple stretch, or a strengthening exercise.

 

What topics will be addressed in this group?

-   Pelvic floor, core, and female reproductive anatomy to demystify your anatomy so that you can finally understand the root cause of your pain, discomfort, or confusion.

-   Yoga asanas (movements and postures) that specifically address the pelvic floor, abdomen, and hips to help alleviate your pain or discomfort

-   Pranayamas (breathing exercises) that support healthy diaphragm and pelvic floor function and promote relaxation to address your women’s health concerns.

-   Restorative yoga and guided relaxation for nervous system regulation to help alleviate stress and promote physical and mental well-being.

 

Do I need to join every session live or in-person?

No. Every session will be recorded and will be available for up to 1 month following the 8-week program. If you need to miss a session you will need to contact Dana in advance and let her know.
